Vierzon
In the heart of the Cher, discover Sologne and Berry from La Mire
Vierzon, just 2 hours from Paris, is a tourist destination with some wonderful things to discover. It proudly displays the evidence of its medieval past: its 12th-century belfry, the remains of its two communal ovens and their museum, and the church of Notre-Dame with its great organ and stained-glass windows.
Near the Canal de Berry is also the Square Lucien Beaufrère, an Art Deco jewel listed as a Historic Monument.
Vierzon is ideally situated in the heart of the magnificent natural regions of Sologne, Champagne Berrichonne and the Cher Valley. These are lands of hunting and gastronomy, with a wealth of renowned local AOC appellations. The vast forests, moors and ponds of Sologne and the banks of the Canal de Berry are a delight for walkers in the heart of a generous, unspoilt natural environment.
